Meet the Author!

Juliana Cedeno

Author of The Container Store

I am Juliana Cedeno, and I wrote “The Container Store”! As a lifelong homeschooler, I’ve had an overabundance of time to think and create, and wonder about the world. It’s messy to wonder all the time, and it’s hard to think clearly when all you can think about is everything. But poetry has become my outlet for processing, sorting, and neatly packaging the heady chaos ofmy own mind and how it relates to the world.

When I’m not preoccupied spinning a globe in my head, I’m shopping - I live and breathe the fashion industry! I plan to study fashion marketing at FIT, and with its vibrant city campus I know I’ll fit right in. Besides shopping or writing, if you’re looking to find me I’m often debating. Even as a kid anyone who knew me will tell you I was argumentative. Now, I can putthat energy into a sparkling debate and learn from those whom I’m debating with. There is nothing more precious than communication, and picking what that means apart is a personal delight.

These are all parts of me that feed into my frenetic lifestyle; it keeps me on my toes and I love it! I’m always moving, planning, plotting, traveling, learning, and loving, and it is the people who come with me in the freneticism who keep me going.

Why The Container Store?

“Gathering every item in one place is essential to this process because it gives you an accurate grasp of how much you have.” - Marie Kondo, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

“The Container Store” serves to remind us how much we can feel. It wraps love in stained newspaper tied with butcher string and delivers distaste in a Hallmark card. This book is a collection of poems that serve as emotional containers, capturing moments of intense feeling and preserving them for you to unpack at your leisure.

It's like opening your childhood memory box, some sweet and some bitter, but all worth revisiting. And like any good container, this book is multipurpose - so feel free to interpret the emotions in your own way. Join me, peruse the shelves, and find the perfect container for your heart.
